OSCARS

I know a lot has been talked about this year Oscars until it went Stale!!.Hang on !! This is about the after-effects of Slum dog millionaire. I know u have started yawning :-) .My brother sarcastically says that I never know to tell a story without giving a big intro for it. Let me try to keep it precise this time (to my best) :-P.
On getting exhausted with IT profession on being 5 years into this field , I decided to pursue a career as an English Tutor.I can hear u saying 'what has it got to do with Oscars ?'. wait !! As by saying - 'Forbearance is the key to success'. I got a call from an educational institution for an English tutor position. On the interview day, I met a Latino-American, an American, an European and a Zimbabwean (my co-applicants). We talked about lot of things, incidentally the topic reached to poverty they see in Asian countries and as obvious Slum-dog millionaire became the subject of discussion. They started quoting scenes from Slum-dog millionaire. American friend said that the scene where the kids run for life from riots and their mother falling prey was very emotional. He said

"The scene totally stirred me. I just couldn't digest it at all. All to blame is the poverty!!. I realized there is lot of pain around us in this world.I hope one day it(India) reforms to get this(poverty) eradicated. At least every Indian kid gets a bread a day with no difficulty"

After the interview was over, we had to take a cab till subway station. American friend suggested that we(he, Latino-american and I) share a cab till the subway, but we later found the subway was not very far from our interview spot that we reached in the minimum cost. Now sharing 3 Renminbi each seemed very absurd that I denied taking their share.LA walked away with a thanks but my American friend quoted again a scene from Slum-dog millionaire where the Americans offer money to the boy who gets kicked by his boss and said "Its our(American) way of living that we never take anything for free". Anyhow he couldn't convince me accepting his 3 bucks(Say kudos to me !!) Now coming to the point , I don't say that SDM movie has potrayed India totally as a land of poverty but we all can't deny the fact that this movie has influenced the way how India is being looked upon by rest of the world.
At this juncture I felt a need for Ambanis or Tatas or Mittals or atleast our vijay mallaya sponsoring to Spielburgs or Cameroons or John ford kind of a director to direct a sequel of SDM called "Loot ke hua Millionaire"(meaning looted to become a millionaire) to potray a rich India .Pro'ly can have sets like Jodhaa Akbar or Devdas or Sawariya or our thalaivar's 'adiradikaran' kind to showcase a rich India(at least ancient rich India).
All to make Loot ke hua millionaire a success - This time the music score will be done by ...No ..Not ARR .His Oscars had been a much debated one , Critics point that the music is not in par when compared to his sensational hits like - Taal, Roja, RDB, Guru etc ... !! Back to topic , Never-the less an Oscar is an Oscar and no doubt he is a revered musician . But to encourage youths (just like our Indian cric Team) Chance is given to "OUR VERY OWNNNNNNNNNNNN ____ YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA".
For the climax song Frieda and Dev shake legs for "where is the party AA unga ootula !!!!" in our unofficial national dress 'Lungi'... and why not ? when ARR says "ella pughazhum iraivanukae" in Oscars why not we have "unga ootula" in lyrics? and we retain the same set of foreigners for the song or pro'ly call ex-employees of LB or those who are hit by recession and are in look out for a job to have guest appearance in this song .

If the movie can make to Oscars ,I will surely this time take part in the poojas that would be performed praying for yuvan winning Oscars to join the list of Russel, ARR and Gulzar.

And if he wins .. NDTV coverage would say "

"Yuvan's song was well received by Angelina and Pitt , who were seated in the First row" . Infact jolie ran to the Dias to dance for the song"

And now comes the highlight !!

If I accidentally meet my American friend, I would say

"The scene totally stirred me. I just couldn't digest it at all. All to blame is the recession!!. I realized there is lot of pain around us in this world.I hope one day it(US) comes out of this recession. At least every American youth gets a party once everyday with no difficulty" --------JAI HO!!!

P.S:With the sense of satisfaction, I reach home and switch on the TV. There comes the kumkumam ADD saying (read in nirmala periyasamy tone)
"Nan potaen mettu adarku Angelina jolie potal kumang kutthu "-- Koothugalikirar Yuvan sankar Raja, Vangi vitirgala ippodu virpanaiyil kumkumam ... "
OSATHI KANNA OSATHI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi ,
Nice to see your comment. I am feeling great that one person had a patience to read my this so-called blog !! yes I am a Yuvan fan .. and recent Silambattam songs are rocking. Well we too have faced this snake question .. I don't know what makes them feel India as land of snakes .. :-)
Btw, coming to the satellite thing , Here in our locality from whatever we have explored there is clone- dish. It is little bigger than the usual original dishes. They are mount in such a way to have maximum signal coverage. We are getting approx 7 tamil channels like Jaya, Jayamax, jayaplus, Raj music, raj news, mega, win , tamilan etc...plus quite a few other indian channels like telugu, malayalam , kannada, hindi.. unfortunately we don't get Sun and vijay [ My biggest worry from the day i landed shanghai :-)] But this is a good option as it is not very expensive and a better package :-)
